Yes it does. Representation, and thus elaboration, of the fears, anguishes and violent thougts that we (all) have is the best (maybe only?) way to take control over them and make them a healthy part of our lives (i.e to make our lives healthy despite them, since they’re not going anywhere), instead of being constantly squashed by them and then being horrible to those who do speak about them, acting them out, or just suffering in maddening silence.

and sorry if you were being ironic; I ithought I’d take the risk.

Non violent horror comic would have to deal with non violent horrors and there is only so much material you get get out of a really long queue at the bank or the train station!

I think you might lack basic understanding of the human digestion system but you seem to know alot about how human bodily fluids should look from fatal wounds and that’s not at all scary šŸ˜‰

@Generic Mom: are you worried about too much violent content in this comic, or something else? It seems that violence and gore is very much a part of the False Positive oeuvre.

It would make more a lot more sense to reply to her post than to make another top-level one.

I wonder if she’d had more success if she’d hit the side with the thing that is growing on him.

I am not really convinced with that part… attacking such monster like in the beginning of the story, this means those adventurers should be really experienced and well-trained.
Now tell me why should a professional warrior – who gained skills through many combats – aim her attack on enemys shoulder instead of head (not even mentioning, that the head – with that horrid abominantions attachement – makes a really good target)

We don’t know her target. That’s a big axe that needs a big swing before landing. Probably good to avoid hitting elf and strike on other side of guy.
Looks like guy turned and blow might have missed target, but still a killstrike

Subclavian artery goes along the shoulder, only protected by muscle and the clavicle. Cut that and you’re unconscious in ~2 seconds, dead in 3-4. It’s a perfectly valid killing blow, although against something freaky like this the head is probably a better target…

Lots of good points in both Jeron and Deacon’s posts, but also note that he still had the monk in his hands blocking a good portion of his body and his head. She was trying to save her friend while killing Abe, whose left side and head had cover.

Well first off it was the easiest target for her body positioning, muscular or not that axe would be fucking HEAVY so to get a good swing takes effort and isn’t that precise, and secondly she wasn’t aiming for his shoulder so much as his jugular vein which runs through the side of the neck to the shoulder, which would be an incredibly maiming and eventually killing blow. If he wasn’t super jacked up by that monster thing he would have collapsed and bled out from that kind of blow. Hence the blood strings, that vein would spurt if severed because it’s all the blood coming from the brain which a LOT at a high velocity.

She was semi-freaked out and didn’t want to kill the magi.

If you (Permonick) have ever been in a quick “O SHIT” Kind of fight…sometimes you just want to get a quick strike in there…and the hell with where it lands…She just saw her dog, archer buddy and magi – dude get all FFF’ed up…plus it has only been a few seconds since she woke up for cryin’ out loud!

Besides in Mike’s universe…the coin lands on the “You’re in Big ASS trouble” side 90 percent of the time!

Good News for People Who Like Bad News

01-18-24

Dear False Positive Readers,

This is Ashley Walton, Mike’s sister and editor of False Positive. I have really terrible, awful news and a tiny bit of good news.

You might have noticed it’s been a couple years since we’ve posted anything on this website. Well, brace yourself for the saddest update I’ll ever share.
