Final Destination 1–5 (2000–2011)
I like some of the Nightmare on Elm Street films and some of the Halloween, Hellraiser, and Friday the 13th movies, too, but no slasher series succeeds like the Final Destination franchise. A lot of horror movies, especially slasher movies, remind me of spook alleys. The plots of these sorts of movies string together a series of horrifying tableaus — a sequence of scary special-effects scenes — just like a spook alley. Final Destination does this better than any other franchise. Plus, each film in the series is a blast. And, to top it all off, the 5 film series gives audiences a fun arc/payoff.
