I posted this video about Concoction back in January of 2015 on my seemingly dead YouTube account.
At the time, unhappy with the quality of the final product, I decided not to share it far and wide.
And now, I’m sharing it in hopes it might offer a few minutes of distraction for those who have interest in learning a little about False Positive and can brave the poor audio.
Just wanted to say that this is the best comic I’ve ever read and that’s honestly not an exaggeration, I’m not that huge on comics. I like the Silver Surfer series, but that’s about it on seriously *liking* comics, heh. Anyway, I love what you’ve done with this series — it hits all my favorite talking points: horror, sci fi, fantasy and good old fashioned mind fuckery. Very much reminds me of work done on the Twilight Zone or maybe more appropriately Tales From the Darkside. But with a slick modern twist. Love the story weaving. And I can’t give you enough props for being the sole artist/writer of this series. Your panel composition is superb, very cinematic. Sometimes I forget I’m looking at a still frame. As a writer and (aaaaaamatuer) illustrator, doing something like this has always been a fantasy of mine, but I don’t really have the illustration skills to carry it out. So I’m really happy to find this gem via io9. You kick ass, man, please keep it up and keep it freaky!
I’m thrilled when False Positive manages to evoke any sort of comparison to The Twilight Zone or Tales from the Darkside.
I grew up reading comics and am still an avid comic book fan, but I’m a huge cinefile. I love movies. I believe my work is much more influenced by film and television than comics.
Thanks. for taking the time to read and comment. I will try to keep it freaky.
Clean up, clean up, everybody everywhere! Clean up, clean up, before Barney hammers you to death you little picky urchin o.o
