I’ve seen so much fantastic stuff this year, I just had to share some of my favorites. If you enjoy False Positive, these shows might be right up your alley.
A few of these date back to last year, but I didn’t catch them until more recently. Most of these are available to watch at home.
In no particular order, the 10 Awesomest Movies I’ve Seen So Far in 2017:
1. The Blackcoat’s Daughter
Dark forces slowly encroach on a prep school with awesomely unnerving results.
2. A Dark Song
Harrowing magic rituals with escalating costs.
3. Wonder Woman
Not only did Wonder Woman finally get her own movie, it’s pretty awesome.
4. Get Out
Horror served up awesomely with a heap of racial satire.
Did you know False Positive has its own version of a FAQ page?
IFAQ – InFrequently Asked Questions
Some questions were inspired by real human beings that are not me—but most of them came from the straw man who swims in my brain. The page has been here since the beginning. Occasionally, I add or edit questions and answers.
Today was one of those days.

I didn’t see every film that came out last year, but I saw quite a lot of them. It does seem like each year, there are fewer and fewer films motivating me to make it to the theater, but these films were worthwhile outings.
They really might not be the 9 “best” movies that came out last year, but they’re the ones I found to be most entertaining. In no particular order:
Deadpool
One of the best comic book translations to date. Deadpool looked and behaved like the character from the comics. Colossus has never looked better.
The Witch
Deliberate pacing. Expert tone. Satisfying story. I’d like to see more period, supernatural horror like this.
It’s never something that I like to do, but I need put updates on hold for a few weeks.
I wish you all a happy holiday season. See you in the new year.
Cheers!
