Dear False Positive Readers,
This is Ashley Walton, Mikeās sister and editor of False Positive. I have really terrible, awful news and a tiny bit of good news.
You might have noticed itās been a couple years since weāve posted anything on this website. Well, brace yourself for the saddest update Iāll ever share.
That’s actually not a bad tan underneath that skin you’re shedding. You go, girl.

And I’m suddenly reminded of a Jungi Ito story where a woman stole skin from others because hers suddenly fell off at adulthood. Haven had a bit with that too.

…I can’t decide if the weirdest thing is the skin falling apart or that the pieces are apparently acting against gravity.
So far I’m not seeing the difference between this and an normal bad drug trip. It’s only when she wakes up (or doesn’t) that the real variation will be clear….
Am I the only one thinking that maybe this is a Rainbow Brite alternaverse where Murky triumphed and the color sprites were reduced to dealing star sprinkle based drugs to re-infuse color into the world or am I just having 80s flashbacks? ..I wanna new drug.
The orange skin of a fake tan emerging?? My God, she’s mutating into a Kardashian. Nuke it from orbit, it’s the only way to be sure.

Is she turning into the bride of That Yellow Bastard from Sin City? Although in that middle pane she looks more pee’d off than worried, maybe this is her real self emerging which means her drugs didn’t work, or as a reaction to the drugs. But that doesn’t explain the 911 call…
That shade of color looks pretty similar to the one used extensively in Constriction. So… is she shedding her outer layers and going nova?
Given that people take drugs to achieve a desired state, my guess is that she’s not human and it’s the drugs that make her appear human. This is the moment when she realises she’s developing a tolerance. Whatever’s under her human shell, that we’re seeing breaking through? That’s the real “her”.
What if this is all merely happening in her mind as part of the trip, and it’s her countermeasures that get her killed?
Skin acting against gravity? So at least part of her is getting high.
who wants to bet that this is just a bad trip, her mind playing tricks on her?
