   I’m guessing that the circle is some type of image projector and the substance is the message to play on that projector. Since she is injecting it into the arm with the circle.

     Hmm….You could be right, there. Also, why put your glasses ON when taking a hit? I’d have taken them off so they would be damaged during my “high”. It’s not like I would need them during that. But if there was some kind of biomechanical holographic device embedded in my wrist, triggered by the shot, then I’d probably need my glasses to see the hologram when it appears…
