Dear False Positive Readers,
This is Ashley Walton, Mike’s sister and editor of False Positive. I have really terrible, awful news and a tiny bit of good news.
You might have noticed it’s been a couple years since we’ve posted anything on this website. Well, brace yourself for the saddest update I’ll ever share.
Hard to find a good axe these days.
PLIP
fantastic !
How reassuring that some tendrils are still moving…
I just thought of this: what if this is someone’s own fantasy metaphor for their body fighting conjunctivitis? Yeah, far-fetched, I know; but the idea smelled nice when it passed through my head, so I put it out there.
If anything, I feel like Cancer might be a better metaphor. Your body had trouble fighting it off, when you actually get rid of it with a blast of radiation, you can just as easily find the tendrils still moving and heading towards remission.
I like both of these ideas, although I like the cancer metaphor better. I could also see it being a metaphor for living with severe chronic illness (lupus, CFS, etc.).
Kill it with FIRE!
I’m getting a bad feeling about this… oO;
Hey, adventurers, build a big fire and throw those twitching tentacles in it, now!
Well, this dialogue nicely wraps up the ‘why not use that spell right away?’ debate from the previous page. Perhaps Abe has a knack for destructive effects and has been trying to heal instead? Interesting.
I also like how Piper (i think that’s the character’s name) clearly states ‘we underestimated this creature’.
If they go wandering off looking for an axe and don’t notice that there’s a tendril crawling into their unconscious friend’s eye, I’m going have to say that they took wisdom as their dump stats.
Your art is awesome. This is a unique story. After reading Yolk, Concoction, Newton’s Apple, Ill Repute, Ache, Cache, Constriction and Detained, I know better than to hope for a happy, peaceful ending.
At least Seance had a peaceful, joyful ending.
Hey it’s still moving! I’m gonna poke it! Thank God in our modern age we have horror movies to teach us better.
I view horror movies as modern-day morality plays.
Ah, called it somehow it seems.
THough that wasn?t as difficult as calling 90+% of the stroies twists and turns. ^^
