Dear False Positive Readers,
This is Ashley Walton, Mike’s sister and editor of False Positive. I have really terrible, awful news and a tiny bit of good news.
You might have noticed it’s been a couple years since we’ve posted anything on this website. Well, brace yourself for the saddest update I’ll ever share.
welp
I guess that this ends here
And then, while drifting through space towards the next corp. base, they end up with having less food than needed, and more vile conundrums than they’d wish.
Indeed. I think these ‘kid cannibals’ were in hell to begin with.. but the sentiment is shared.
Though seeing as her friend is not ‘abjectly’ dead… cutting the old-man’s head off in response to the stabbing wound…does seem in light of the results.. more than a little extreme!!!
Vengeful much?
Surprised they didn’t charge screaming when their ‘father’ got whacked
The Beard Daddy stands up, puts his head back on, and says, “Just for that, we aren’t going to the park on Saturday.”
I really don’t think he’ll die so easily from a beheading.
Wonder if they’ll find out more about the contaminant on the way home. Maybe get a little cozy with it, and welcome it back to Earth…
So…spaceship crash-lands on a planet and lies there for 25 years. Exiled Dad and (his?) feral children may have eaten the crew. There is some kind of contamination. The Oliveira family wakes up, breaks in, opens the pod, gets stabbed, and makes their getaway. Exiled Dad loses his head. And there’s more to come.
Is the contamination the Exiled group, or something else? Is the knife wound contaminated? Is contamination a red herring? Exiled Dad is immortal, but he’s missing his leg, so either he’s growing it back or there are limits to what he can recover. If his head lives, can he ever reattach it? Why are there feral children running around with bones? And are both Oliveiras who they appear to be?
So many questions. Glad the regular updates are back so we can find out what happens.
What if the Contamination didn’t kill them simply because they’re immortal. The suits protected the Olveiras, but one of those suits just got pierced.
Daddy’s dotter has not acted yet…these women are dead…their hearts WILL be scratched out and their bones stomped!
The interesting thing is that the body looks like as if it wants to catch the head… and Daughter says nothing.
Regardless: pen-penultimate, penultimate, or ultimate scene – thanks for yet another enjoyable tale, quasilucid!
I don’t recall you doing a sequence in silhouette before like this. Kudos for trying a different storytelling technique! Your sequentials are always clear and attractive, but it’s great when I see you stretching like that. Bravo!
As a female sci-fi reader, it’s nice to see two female protagonists. This is the first piece of sci-fi/action media I’ve seen in a while that passes the bechdel test. The entertainment industry seems to really buy into the belief that ‘no one wants to watch two women on stage’, which is dispiriting to any female viewer, since it discounts female participation in all sorts of interesting genres and storylines. Thank you for making the science fiction genre that much more inclusive .
Nice silhouette of the action at the top of the page. Clarified things a little and made my comment moot. Nicely done!
Check out the shoes on the folks in “Stink Eye”. Identical.
Are all these stories linked, somehow?
