Dear False Positive Readers,
This is Ashley Walton, Mike’s sister and editor of False Positive. I have really terrible, awful news and a tiny bit of good news.
You might have noticed it’s been a couple years since we’ve posted anything on this website. Well, brace yourself for the saddest update I’ll ever share.
j-5 looks like the new MacPro, with a head attached.
Well, they certainly got… *puts shades on* Fired.
*civilian? Love the letter type for the robot 🙂
So the job is done, they can go home now!
Wait…
I learned a new word today, “gofer” ^^
Also, the logo on the robot looks familiar somehow…
One word: Macross
You’re FIRED!
Oh, THIS won’t end well at all… nope… nosiree…
Alright: I had assumed a classic sci-fi scenario in which these two were “the” crew. This was unexpected, and it opens up all kinds of interesting possibilities (what if dying miserably outside when your suits’ systems fail is the better end of the deal, compared to what’s happening inside the ship?)
Also, I’m assuming that Oliveira & Oliveira are married, since they don’t look much like sisters. But then I could be wrong again, and it probably isn’t too relevant anyway ^^
I guess it isn’t too relevant inside the story (other than to establish that they trust and would try to save each other, for example), but it sure matters a whole lot outside of it!
And once more this webcomic is just excellent in so many ways.
How long do you guys think they have after walking those ’12 clicks’ with only four hours to spare?
It sort of reminds me of Motorola. Who knows? It might be their Future Space Division.
That’s it XD It’s the future Motorola logo!
I feel like the ghost of Hal is coming out to play…
Locking them out of the systems and ‘firing’ them instead of just barring entry itself makes more sense if *they’re* the ones deemed infected.
Nah, it’s not Motorola or Apple, that thing HAS to run on Windows ME.
It’s Clippy rendered large!
Fact one: Quarantine has been initiated
Fact two: Oliveiras are from the rear portion of the wreck, and have been warned to stay away from the main section.
Fact three: They have been fired from their jobs and locked out of the network, which we can judge from the robot’s arrival, is still functional.
Hypothesis: The Oliveiras are the ones who are quarantined, and thought infected.
That sounds pretty solid. I guess we’ll see soon enough.
Alright, I stand happily corrected on babe. 🙂 Not that most of these end happily ever after. Well, maybe some of them do.
The dialog has a strong Alien vibe. Maybe this is one of the rare instances where the robot’s right and they should just go along.
