Dear False Positive Readers,
This is Ashley Walton, Mike’s sister and editor of False Positive. I have really terrible, awful news and a tiny bit of good news.
You might have noticed it’s been a couple years since we’ve posted anything on this website. Well, brace yourself for the saddest update I’ll ever share.

Wow, another unexpected plot twist. Who knew ghosts could be THAT deadly.
And… the s*** hits the fan.
This is why seances aren’t fun any more.

“Ia! Ia! The Black Goat with a Thousand Young! Let the ancient Qylli’Khea be reborn once more in a new host that shoggoths may pierce the veil!”

my first thought was of that stupid movie “the skeleton key.” But I bet my right hand this will be better!

Well that’s a good reason to use the smoke and mirrors routine even when the medium can manage a real seance.

So, we know the guy with the Heidelberg scar must be Simon, and the flapper is Abigail. Will the guy with the braids be the hero? Edge of our seats for sure!
This has potential to replace “Detained” as my favorite!
Marx’s hand and knife are looking pretty opaque there… Whatever this bodes, I doubt it’s good. The medium better find a way to undisplace herself, and on the double.
Who is the Poe-lookalike over her shoulder?? He’s been behind her since the spirits began showing up. Fantastic, edge-of-my-seat reading. Nice season opener!!
Do your stories take place in the same “universe” or is it a different world each time?
I have given this a little thought. There is no reason most of these stories couldn’t coexist in a coherent universe. I do not try to limit the scope of a story by demanding that it cohere to certain limitations, but I also like the idea of characters from multiple stories crossing paths with one another.
Constriction might be a bit of a square peg in a round whole when trying to explain its connection to the other stories.
I just thought of something… Do her “clients” see what we (the readers) see, the spirits and all, or do they only see the medium and the smoke?
If they can see everything, I’m gonna suspect some shenanigans because this seemed waaay too easy for the ghost.
Of course I’m very knowledgeable about ghosts. This is not a crazy idea that I had late at night in the shower at all.
I dont hink they can see the ghosts or when he cut her out or whatever he did he wouldn’t have had to say to the clients afterwards that the medium is displaced, because they would know because they had seen it.
Of all the directions this story could have gone, I did NOT anticipate this one

Aw, CRAP. THEY CAN DO THAT? O.O
I mean, considering other horrible things I’ve seen authors and directors do with seance scenes, I shouldn’t be SO surprised, but still. CRAP. (As a side note, try saying “seance scenes” three times fast; it’s hard) The runes and smoke (ectoplasm?) coming off of the knife are a new thing; I like it.
