Dear False Positive Readers,
This is Ashley Walton, Mike’s sister and editor of False Positive. I have really terrible, awful news and a tiny bit of good news.
You might have noticed it’s been a couple years since we’ve posted anything on this website. Well, brace yourself for the saddest update I’ll ever share.
Good morning sleepy-head!
The texture(s) and form(s) of are really great, I almost know how it would feel like to touch them.
Hmmm, bio based on mechanical…kinky.
And they even fixed your space suit and starter weapon!
Still brindgin us in deeper. And caring about the character. Way to go!
I think this is the guy from the season cover…
Great catch!
I gotta say, I’m loving the detail and care put into the art of this comic.
I sometime have to marvel at the shear perfection of the human species.
Redundant sensory organs, Bilateral symmetrical form, agile multi-digited manipulative tool using and making limbs, redundant reproductive organs, predator stereoscopic full color 3 dimensional optical abilities, high order cognitive and reasoning learning pattern identifying mental capabilities, and a psychology able to conceive and process non-physcial abstract definitions of the universe perceived and leap beyond the given to postulate the unknown possibilities around it.
Al this with the senses designed to take total joy of the universe around in in sight, sound, taste, smell, sensation… and even the cognitive joy of discovery and mastery of the unknown.
How …divine man is in poise and action. A marvel unique within the Universe to behold. God like.
If only we …behaved more divine in our treatment of our fellow man…
I wonder what any alien race would think to discover an individual race so designed to succeed and adaptable?
But to this story… if this man has been adrift in space… likely a Very VERY long time. These ‘aliens’ seem to know and awful lot about how the human body works.. whats part of it and whats not part of it. Whats to say they are not aliens at all… but humans.. but humans after say 2million years of advancement?
Finding such a man would be a treasure of genetic heritage. Not a gene specimen to dissect.. but a MAN. A person of hopes, dreams and fears. What would man be like.. 1 million years into the future?
This story invokes such wonder and questions in me. Thank you.
Your comment made me think and made me appreciate life more. That is much more than I have come to expect from an internet comment or even a comment in conversation most of the time. Thank you; I might save this comment so that I can remember it in the future.
I am deeply flattered.. and humbled my words touched you so. I am no poet.. no wise man. I simply felt ..inspired to set those words to record. If my words had any meaning couched in them they were… ‘Praise the Creator..not the created!’
You are deeply and humbly welcome! 🙂
This story stimulates hope in the human condition. The human condition mocks the law of entropy. In humankind we see the ultimate organization of matter and elements as they combine to form a creature capable of perception, imagination, creation, and action.
What can man accomplish with these gifts on a long enough time line? Marvel at the progression of the human specimen over the past 5,000 years. Look how man has used his endowment of intelligence to master his environment over the last 400 years. Imagine what humans will achieve if they are allowed to progress for 2,000,000 years or 20,000,000 years.
Man has progressed from the sword, to the gun, to the atom bomb in less than 500 years. The ability to destroy worlds is nearly within the grasp of humans. As humans continue to learn and advance, they will surely discover the deepest secrets of quantum physics and the evasive “M” theory, or underlying theory of everything. The fabric of space-time, dimensions, and the multi-verse will be manipulated and controlled by human beings with impunity.
Within a short time (geologically speaking), humans will be able to destroy distant suns, solar systems, and galaxies for their own amusement and sense of achievement. The perfect day is coming. On that day humans will fill the measure of their creation and learn to manipulate all matter in the universe by setting in motion its collapse. The universe will be set in motion and gravity will take its course. The universe will become one small, dense, hot point. All life will be exterminated and then explode outward again in the next Big Bang.
And mankind’s ability to kill and destroy will peak and they shall finally earn the title of God. It is beautiful.
Thank you for inspiring and reminding us of the great and terrible potential of our species.
“And mankind’s ability to kill and destroy will peak and they shall finally earn the title of God.” – Yeah well, with the tiny difference that God, so you believe in one, _created_ the universe. It is always so much easier to destroy something than to build it, as we are constantly reminded of whenever we try to ‘undo’ the effects of exploiting our own planet. If we really used those godlike powers (should we ever get them, and I highly doubt that) to destroy all creation, we would rather behave like spoiled brats in a jealous hissy fit than divine creatures.
I ENJOY THESE COMMENTS GREATLY. so sorry for the caps…in a hurry to post, at work!
Walton, Im sure people say this to you every day, but I just can’t keep my mouth shut. Your work, visual and narrative, is superb, unique and brave. Thank you very much for sharing your talent through the internet.
Thanks. I appreciate the encouragement.
False Positive isn’t for everybody, but it is a labor of love, and I’m always glad to know somebody enjoys any aspect of this stuff.
Cheers!
