Dear False Positive Readers,
This is Ashley Walton, Mike’s sister and editor of False Positive. I have really terrible, awful news and a tiny bit of good news.
You might have noticed it’s been a couple years since we’ve posted anything on this website. Well, brace yourself for the saddest update I’ll ever share.
Is it me, or those all are familiar faceses
Well that’s interesting. We have the two guys from Frenzy (first and third from the left), the daughter from Exiled, the guy on the right is wearing the mask featured in Yolk and Found in His Hand (and is possibly the father from Exiled?). The woman has similar eyes to the witch from Found in His Hand. Either way, it’s clearly some sort of meeting of immortals – and a tying together of the mythos.
And the black guy is from concoction?
You know what? I actually checked Concoction when I was writing the OP and decided it probably isn’t (the style has changed a lot, so it was hard to compare).
But *now*, I’m looking at Concoction Page 3, Panel 1, and I see that the guy’s hairline *and* earlobe shape are pretty much *exactly* the same. So yeah, it might be the same guy after all!
That would be a pretty impressive recovery if so.
I like to pretend there is a False Positive acting company where the same people keep getting cast in different stories. Except the stories really happen to them.
So I definitely agree with the Frenzy analysis- but I’ve got some addendums for your other analysis. The girl and the masked man are definitely the survivors from Found in His Hand, and you can see them taking the Yolk mask at the end of that storyline; they might be the same people from Exiled, since the dynamic is similar and I can’t imagine someone being able to survive easily in a safe for what I would assume was an extended period of time while still retaining the strength to cleave a foe in twain. It would be interesting to note that whatever gave the characters in Exiled their invulnerability to bullets did not appear to give them resistance from magic bullshit. I’m not sure who glowy-eyes is, but Found In His Hand isn’t the only place we’ve seen glowy red eyes- we also saw them in Frenzy, for example. I basically now have to reread everything to see what other details I’ve missed; for example, the creature from redeemed was also in detained, a detail I totally missed earlier.
Their positioning is odd, with the witch standing between father and daughter. I wonder whether it could be the same witch, and this could be pre-FihH, but I don’t think they look very similar and it would make the presence of the mask a bit weird (although honestly the mask is weird regardless). If this story is chronologically before FihH then it might explain how the events of FihH came to pass, and if not then why the heck would you trust another blonde witch?
They’re controlling the witch … not letting her get in betweeen them a la “Get away from her you witch.”
Turn around, bright eyes … every now and then towns fall apart! And we need her more than this. And we need her more than eever. And they’ll only be be making their riiiights …
Damn presidential election PSAs. “Your vote matters . . . the more you know.” Ding dong ding.
Actually, considering there is a planet left, they are doing pretty good in this one.
Mikey, the scary thing is your comment made me laugh out loud.
Frenzy, Exiled, Concoction?, and Yolk Mask. Shit’s about to go down.
Avengers assembly!
I think that’s the black guy from “Concoction”, only in much better shape than when we last saw him…
result of “concoction”, “specimen”, “constriction” or another story? Maybe all of them or it’s another game of cops ‘n robbers.
Wait … I know, Demon Archives meets Soul to Call meets Romantically Apocalyptic meets False Positive … possibly also Broodhollow.
Yeah, well, whoever those people are, I am NOT cleaning up that mess.
