     I’m guessing this is the final form he needed. Giant squid can dive far deeper than anything else (some things start that deep, but squid has range of depth and high mobility.)

       If we’re thinking that route… He performed his incantation in a destroyed temple. Seeking to raise the forgotten god(s) of his people would be both logical and story-consistent.
       But again my question is whether his transformations are self-directed or based on the needs of the incantation.

     I’ll bump this one. I love the art in this episode. The unused bits disintegrating, the morphing shapes sexy. The eye color smear is a nice touch of color.
