   I know what this is, its like the old way a lich could make their way back to human form, by starting off as a mouse the mouse had to kill a cat and the cat had to kill a dog and so on and so on until it worked its way up the food chain to human

   if you look closely, you can see that the second panel is the transformation to harelike traits over rat-like ones, the legs and ears are legthening and the fur is getting lighter, while the tail is falling off.
