Dear False Positive Readers,
This is Ashley Walton, Mikeās sister and editor of False Positive. I have really terrible, awful news and a tiny bit of good news.
You might have noticed itās been a couple years since weāve posted anything on this website. Well, brace yourself for the saddest update Iāll ever share.
He knows he’s going to die…
She said “See you tomorrow;” he just said “Good night.” He doesn’t expect to see her tomorrow…
that’s a waste of a perfectly good steak.
I see no reason why he couldn’t just brush it off and cook it with a match or two.
Good point. now I Hunger….
I’ve never really understood the “steak on the eye thing” How exactly is it supposed to help?
the steak on the eye thing was pretty much the old-age version of the disposable ice pack. the meat, which was typically sold pre-cured and juicy, would feel cold to the touch due to evaporation. the cold would help numb the affected area, and due to the soft nature of the “poultice” it would more easily conform to the face than a rough cotton or wool cloth dipped in water and stay cold longer. there was also the superstition that the properties of the meat had healing abilities, but this was largely unbased due to bacteria being more harmful than good.
Fun fact; red meat sits “colder” at room temp than white meat, hence the popularity of it as a poultice. I hope this helps š
Ice also used to be either hard to come by or expensive, depending on the time frame and proximity to someplace that could provide/deliver it. Meat was more accessible, and would last longer (and could always be eaten when you were done with it on your eye).
Soundtrack…. Harlem Nocturne
You should see the other guy š
I’m digging the film-noir-detective-novel internal monologue.
Noir is good. Noir and wicked is even better.
Ok, there is your scotch!, now we just need some monologues and more shadows š
I’m bracing myself… not sure which direction this ride is going to abruptly jerk me.

“SĆ©ance” and “Stink Eye” both ended with nonhuman forces threatening to take over the human population. Humans ended up being hosts in both scenarios; for mobility in the land of the living and reproduction/food, respectively. I wonder if we’ll see a another human threat like that at the end of “Frenzy.”
I hope it doesn’t refer to a feeding frenzy! That last one was pretty scary! (Awesome, but scary!)
I should post a guess as to what will come next… but that steak made me hungry.
Can we just take a moment to marvel over how beautiful that steak is, and the paper it came wrapped in? It’s all beautiful, but the time he took to color and shade the texturing on those is underappreciated talent and effort, and I am a big fan of the little details like that.
