Dear False Positive Readers,
This is Ashley Walton, Mike’s sister and editor of False Positive. I have really terrible, awful news and a tiny bit of good news.
You might have noticed it’s been a couple years since we’ve posted anything on this website. Well, brace yourself for the saddest update I’ll ever share.
That smile
That is indeed a very grown-up smile for a child. Until you remember that the “child” is well over a thousand years old.
I’m sure the guys just taking a nap.
Don’t worry, he’s just sleeping. On the ground. With all his blood outside of his body.
And twisted into a lovely Winsor knot.
And…to no-one’s surprise…random thief 2 becomes the blood sacrifice. Wonder how these two are going to face the owner of the place?
With the words hello mother / wife?
Probably in a way that will surprise most of us. 🙂
The Owner of the place is his ex wife. That’s their child.
Well the little girls likely to turn into a huge multi-mouthed & eyed tentacle beast… claiming to be a god…
My bets on the blonde.
I love how the sigils seem to remain intact (and blood-streaked) while the rest of the collar and chain just disintegrates.
As always, a treat for the eyes and the mind!
Doesn’t the fact that everyone seems to think that the woman is the mother pretty much guarantee that the twist will be exactly not that?
Yes.
I think this story had the big twist on page 15.
I think the other story was about eating an alien to become immortal. It would be a huge coincidence if the mother/ wife also somehow was also immortal.
the next obvious thing would be for it to be related to the wayfarer, but the energy color of the blond doesnt match…hoping for something new =)
Yes. Wayfarer theories. I think it’s insulting to Mike, who comes up with new, amazing stories all the time, to drag up Wayfarer and Coyote all the time.
There was a connection to a previous story ONCE and that was asked for
to be fair it’s happened more than once. he just doesn’t bother to ask any more.
I think it was clear that “Mother” is the Father of the chained girl. I also think this is the pair from “Exiled.” If this is so, why would this witch or whatever want to keep the girl prisoner? She probably is able to somehow use the girl’s youth to keep herself young. She looks like a pretty young witch for someone so obviously accomplished… seems like it would have taken a long time to amass her collection of artifacts… and didn’t the Father say he had been looking for his daughter for decades? This witch is aging pretty well for someone who has had a prisoner for decades.
this is soo awesomeee
finally the stories interconnect!!!
If they appeared on a space ship in future that means that all went better than spected there ? Hoping to see some skull punching! \o/
Well this could be where he lost part of his leg 🙂
To Spartans honor was everything, none more so than this one, given how long he obeyed his Exile. Yet, he so easily betrays this man who he had entered into a bargain with. Understandable that he needs his daughter in order to face eternity, but to throw aside his honor so easily after only 70 years on the road is a depressing indicator of how corrupting our current age is.
Clay, which stories?
Wayfarer + Detained + Redeem
Exiled + Redeem
Exiled + Sentinel?
Exiled + All the Stories: referenced on Found in his Hand page 12 + Found in his Hand
Also, does the blood have to be a fatality.
Detained, yes. The others no. With that kind of thinking, it’s like ALL immortals are pals or family or variation of the same entity or whatever. Mike operates in at least 2 worlds, probably more. (Stink eye is not our world, is Yolk played out in that one or a third?) Does he have to invent new genders and species to avoid “connections?” The fact that it’s humans we about doesn’t necessary mean it’s played out in our universe/reality.
Found in his hand with all the references is an exception and doesn’t count.
It would be hilarious if, during the course of the upcoming battle, the witch, in desperation, opens up the suitcase to retrieve a potion to make herself more powerful, only to find that poor traveler’s boxer shorts!
