   Sounds like an exiled spartan to me who has an awesome sweetbread recipe. Maybe his recipe was passed down through the generations to be enjoyed by our loving “clean up” family.

   Not necessarily exiled, or they’d have taken his kit. I don’t see his hoplon, but then we haven’t seen his entire house. Either way, he’s Greek (or early Latin, but most likely Greek), a citizen, wealthy enough to afford his own equipment, and thus possibly educated. There are a few questions (like where are his slaves), but either way this promises to get VERY interesting
