Dear False Positive Readers,
This is Ashley Walton, Mike’s sister and editor of False Positive. I have really terrible, awful news and a tiny bit of good news.
You might have noticed it’s been a couple years since we’ve posted anything on this website. Well, brace yourself for the saddest update I’ll ever share.
Okay, so NOT a force field. Arcane magic field!
Yeah, you can see the “runes” on the previous page as well if you look closely.
if it’s aliens then it could be that the rune are a warning… something along the lines of “please stop touching the glass and back away or you will be shocked” or something
Dammit, so it’s really a magical barrier. Still the question, who’s the good and who’s the bad one here…
Not being a native speaker, I had to look up “pissant”, and thought I’d share what I found without further comment *g* Here is:
“The original pissant is any of a certain group of large ant species, commonly called wood ants, that make mounded nests in British and European forests. The name pissant arises from the urine-like odor produced by their nesting material—needles and straw from pine trees—and the formic acid that constitutes their venom.”
It can also be used as an insult. Here’s what I found on Wiktionary:
darius, I got the insult part, but I just thought the linguistic origin of it hilarious. It never occurred to me that there was an actual “ant” in “pissant” – not to mention the first part of the word 😉
Intersting.
I, not being a native speaker either, first thought it simply a combination of “pisser” and “ant”.
SO someone insignificant that pisses one off/ a small annoyance.
Does point towards “the captured is something powerful” again.
