Dear False Positive Readers,
This is Ashley Walton, Mikeās sister and editor of False Positive. I have really terrible, awful news and a tiny bit of good news.
You might have noticed itās been a couple years since weāve posted anything on this website. Well, brace yourself for the saddest update Iāll ever share.
Now that’s interesting. Doesn’t seems like she’s scared, more like she’s… happy? Did she want this “goddess” to break free? Are they related somehow? She looks like a mother who is happy to see her daughter again after years. Maybe it’s just my imagination. ^^”
Why crying? You know which were the possibilities.
– The rune hold the “god” and you are safe.
– The “god” pass trough the runes, and you are all dead. Or worse.
You knew it. Face your responsibilities now. Too late for regrets or remorse.
I hope that everything is recorded and safely stored in remote location.
People don’t always cry because they’re sad. It can also be a result of a flood of mixed emotions, extreme stress or fear, etc. Maybe she’s simultaneously getting the adrenaline rush of knowing she might die any moment, combined with admiration for the being in front of her, and a touch of being overjoyed to be proven right after who knows how much hard work and/or ridicule from peers.
But I thought that this “god” would have broken these seals with more ease…
At least, the “monkey toying with fire” are able to hold an ancient being during at least some seconds.
If things goes wrong, the next step is:
Holding the “god” during some minutes? Then hours? Then years?
Science research is a trial and error process. š š
Negating magical seals can be easily and safely done, with no distress to either the castor, or the person unraveling the runes… However, guess what happens if you just go and shatter a spell? Of course, shattering a spell is harder than just unraveling it. Force isn’t always the easiest alternative.
Personal opinion.
oprah looks awestruck
It does look like she is happy. Possibly she is just amazed the true form of this “goddess”
I am very excited to see how this all turns out.
I bet it’s her daughter.
I think she is … happy.
I don’t think it is her daughter, I think it is the fulfillment of a dream come true kinda thingy.
If this is indeed the case, then it’s somewhat similar to the cartoons where one says, “Now I’ve seen everything,” & then pulls out a gun to blow its brains out. The main difference is that she’s not going to pull out a gun & kill herself.
She was pleased that the magical wards held up earlier but at this point, “Oprah” here has seen the proof she was seeking with her own two eyes, so it doesn’t matter to here if she dies now or not.
GREAT job, conveying the emotions on Big “O” Sir artist!
Those teeth makes it look like an Hindu demon
god or not, making oprah cry is just ain’t right
What is with that old-ass intercom system and television screens. Those and her shoulder pads look straight out of the 80s. It’s strange to me to think of these events as happening the past. What’s happened since then?
I think It’s a stylistic thing. I noticed simular “retro Dress” vibes in Newtons apple, and really aside from iPhones nobody in any of the stories goes out of their way to dress “Modern”. Just conjecture but I’d guess it’s a combination of Mike Waltons Age (I think he’s closer to 40 then 20, but don’t quote me on that) and inspirations. After all, the Heyday of the Psych Horror (as apposed to Gore/torture Porn) was really the 30s through 80s, with the 80s seeing it rapidly die out. I know when I think of good horror it goes hand in hand with old suits, boxy TVs and big rotary or dial phones. Or 1900s Arkham Mass. =P
Of course I COULD very well be wrong and it all is an actual hint at the date of the story.

HAHA! WHATCHA GONNA DO HUH!?
Hahaha! Well played, Sir. Well played.
Hmm, I don’t know guys..it looks a bit like she’s sad that the godess acts like this..
she looks like a mother looking at her child destroying itself, and she’s helpless and isn’t able to do something…
Well, what if the wards are actually the only thing keeping her alive? (the goddess demon thingy) They said they were necromancers, so what if they resurrected an old demon/angel/goddess? It could be that parts of the enchantment are for they’re safety as well as the goddess’s
Hmmm . . . Now you have me wondering if the tears are for fear of seeing the god (goddess?) they’ve worked so hard to get, being destroyed by its own impatience and anger.
That would be a surprise, and very cool.
But if it is the case one has to wonder why they didn`t tell “it” from the start.
Really, you have to be a special kind of dumb to put soo much effort and skill into a project and then forgetting to mention soemthing like “Oh, and it keeps your energy centered and so ensures your existence”. No?
On a sidenote: why does as soon as I`ve commented a few strips this … link demanding me to logg in pop up?
