   If the deputy is in on it with the robbers, i don'[t see how killing the hostage would improve the bank robbers situation any, it might have distracted the cops some but if he’s just going to shoot them anyway a live shield might have worked better than a dead one.
   Unless! the sheriff plans to rob the bank and is trying to remove as many witnesses and people who would stop him as possible.
