Dear False Positive Readers,
This is Ashley Walton, Mikeās sister and editor of False Positive. I have really terrible, awful news and a tiny bit of good news.
You might have noticed itās been a couple years since weāve posted anything on this website. Well, brace yourself for the saddest update Iāll ever share.
Well that escalated quickly…
Is this gonna go on forever, sucking everything in its path, until there’s nothing left? o___o
Well, that’s that, then. Goodbye everything.
I hope he made it to cape canaveral in time š
I know there’s no sound in space, but why do I keep hearing a child getting the last bit of milk from from the bottom with a straw?
Wow
Wow. I love how this story’s started small and ending huge. I wonder if the twist to this story is that there is no twist, just good old fashioned end-of-the-world silence.
Well, earth is screwed
Is this the end of Season 1? What a cliffhanger!
What cliffhanger? Everyone dies and the Earth is gone.
That’s about as final as it gets.
This is getting out of hand..
Oh no! It’s a Hawking Hole! Anyone wanna play Dungeons & Dragons for the next quadrilion years? I just rolled up a tenth level vice president…
You’re my favorite.
Lol’ed so hard to that…
Neat Earth devouring scenes aside, this is looking to be one of the more boring endings of all the stories so far, I feel. The other stories all had a much smaller and more personal scale to them, with conclusions that were open to continuation in some way, which implied that they were merely part of an ongoing or greater story. The mystery of what led up to the events of the story and what followed its ending are a big part of what makes these stories so interesting.
If this doesn’t end with everyone dead and the Earth gone however, I’ll happily eat my words.
I hope you are soooooooooo wrong !! š My bet is nobody really died !
i like to think the crepe woman was oprah’s daughter and this is how an angry god lays waste to the world
Even if this particular story does end with everyone dead and the world gone, who is to say that’s necessarily THE END? This is False Positive we’re talking about here!
Well what’s that… thingy… that’s coming outta the earth? Looks like some sorta alien space pod to me
That’s the moon being broken up & devoured.
Oh, I don’t know–It’s a good way to end your entire comic series with a bang… or more like with a ffffffffthhhwip!
Then he wakes up from the nightmare, looks at her sleeping, and is like ‘Frig this, I don’t think I want to propose to her after all! Her crepes made her turn into a black hole!’, packs his stuff, and sneaks out while she is sleeping…
So far i find this story to be pretty dry, i don’t feel as connected to it as I normally do. I’m still waiting for the story to start.
I loves this show…but the radiation and gravity fluxes should have killed everyone by now…..
So there is a … “negative”, an opposite world? She was a portal to somewhere else?
You think their doc would be offended if they got a second opin… um… oh… nevermind.
Maybe the stories are finnaly coming together, and the god from detained is doing something? Teaching her disciple?
No..probably not. But I wonder when that will eventually happen, or if it will never happen at all.
It’s great either way.
It could be the start of a new universe? Like the big bang?
I always make slurping/sucking noises when I look at this page. š
God is vacuum cleaning?
First panel…streaming clouds look like a clawed hand reaching for the hole, very cool.
I am _not_ cleaning that up.
No problem. The mess is sweeping itself up.
When it’s done, the only thing left for you to do is turn off the light & lock the door behind you as you leave.
Both beautiful and horrific.
For anyone interested in the science-y side of things, this singularity isn’t behaving much like I’d expect a black hole to behave. Here’s why:
*A gravitational singularity doesn’t have any more mass than what it started with prior to collapse. The poor woman who set off this change of events weighed very little compared to everything near her. The pull her mass exerted on nearby mass would be all but negligible — perhaps twice as much as normal for those nearby. Matter nearby simply wouldn’t pass over her incredibly small gravitational radius.
*The moon is roughly 10 diameters of the Earth in its orbit. While the gravity from the singularity is no doubt pulling it in from its orbit, the Earth itself would fall into it at the same rate. (Objects with different mass fall equally fast — bigger objects just hit proportionately harder.)
*As others have pointed out, singularities will evaporate over time into high-energy radiation.
Having said this, part of the horror here is that something incredibly powerful is happening that is breaking what we think of as the rules. I’m looking forward to Friday’s update.
…but did the orange car escape?
Naw, it got sucked in a few pages ago while we were still on the streets outside the hospital. Its being orange didn’t save it from the blue collapse. Hey, maybe that’s what this is. Not a black hole, but the start of a vacuum collapse where they universe collapses into a more stable state.
I was making a joke. š
At first i hoped that our wretched scientific mishap of a species ends up like that, without even a chance to repent, but then i thought of the rest of the species that don’t deserve to get that >.< I keep dreaming though…
“Damn it Carl what did I tell you about leaving the vaccum on?! See what you’ve done!? You’ve destroyed ANOTHER world! And I worked *hard* on this one, too!”
This deserves a slow clap.
So … ummm … that really sucks.
This deserves to be a wallpaper, specially the part with the moon being sucked.
Aaaand that’s why I don’t make crepes
This is some SCP-Foundation levels of HOLYSHITWHATISTHAT :V
