Dear False Positive Readers,
This is Ashley Walton, Mike’s sister and editor of False Positive. I have really terrible, awful news and a tiny bit of good news.
You might have noticed it’s been a couple years since we’ve posted anything on this website. Well, brace yourself for the saddest update I’ll ever share.
Ah, what a loving family.
Universal sign language for “Dude, give me a break.”
Their children will be so well adjusted… Now, I gotta wonder what that guy was doing in his house in the first place.
Now, what an… interesting family o_o”
Doesn’t she know he’s had a rough day?
Counting to ten? That has to be code for something. Some thing like “chopping up bodies”
I think she just means counting all 10 fingers.
Counting to ten, as in counting to ten to subdue anger.
Maybe he had trouble counting ten chopped-off fingers?
“Can’t get no respect!”
I found your site a while ago through an add on the Artifice webcomic, and read everything from the beginning in two sittings (got interrupted by the kids partway through). The second-to-last page of “Cops ‘N Robbers” was the most recent update, and I’ve been lurking ever since. Your stories bring back fond childhood memories of watching the old “Twilight Zone” and “Outer Limits” shows, and your artwork has really grown on me. I think this story has been my favorite so far, although Ache and Wayfarer were really fun too.
Love your comic, and I enjoy a lot of the comments I see from your readers as well. I just wanted to pop in and say “Keep up the good work” and all that. 🙂
Thanks for taking the time to comment and offer feedback and encouragement for me and fellow readers.
I’ve been a lifelong fan of anthology shows like The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits, and I’m honored if False Positive brings those shows to mind. I reflect on those type of shows a lot while shaping this comic~ they are a massive source of inspiration.
I’m having a blast working on this project & I’m thrilled there are like minded folks who enjoy reading it.
One of the best aspects about comics is that they can do things that low-budget TV or movies can’t do…Cheapest (& yet still effective) FX around. Depending on the artist, even the big-budget productions can’t match what a comic can show & even if they can, it’s hideously expensive to do so.
That somehow remebers me of the “Mosnter Family” Episode of some Fantasy show or other I once saw.
Creeped me out back then too, very well done!
When I saw the last panel, I couldn’t help but imagine the roaring laughter of a studio audience.
This, this fucking comic from all the others… is just the most confusing.
This is the family Dexter needed.
My favorite comic so far. Masterpiece, love the dad’s expression in the last panel.
