Dear False Positive Readers,
This is Ashley Walton, Mike’s sister and editor of False Positive. I have really terrible, awful news and a tiny bit of good news.
You might have noticed it’s been a couple years since we’ve posted anything on this website. Well, brace yourself for the saddest update I’ll ever share.
Magical Snow Fox God incoming…
Yeah that won’t backfire at all
…and cue the impatient commenters so obsessed with story they have totally forgotten to appreciate the gorgeous artwork. :facehoof:
Yes that is a totally gorgeous fox…
…and ten to one that hunter is going to wish he left his bow at home!
There’s just as much story in the amazing silent artwork as there was in the text-filled android bit before – or maybe even more. If some can’t see that, well… too bad for them.
We’re incredibly lucky that Mike can so brilliantly deal with such different pacings.
It would be hilarious if one of these days, he ran a whole strip as a suspenseful buildup, only to have nothing abnormal/tragic happen at all, and the protagonist goes home and has a pleasant dinner with his/her family. Fade to black, transition to next story.
Any bets on whether that is Coyote?
I’m really surprised nobody’s mentioned the possibility of the fox being the recurring coyote-ghost-god-thing from Wayfarer and the other FP-storys.
Better.
Not Leonardo DiCaprio
Arrow on the thumb side, Lars Anderson style.
Or is it Lars Anderson
That second panel picture is beautiful.
Sooo… Great and terrible marvels anyone?
Canids can hear a twig break half a mile away…so he know exactly…
What if this is the normal story? He shoots the wolf. He eats the wolf. He makes a nice scarf out of the wolf pelt. The end.
On an art note, I’m happy to see the return of the lively line-work in the colors. That’s been missing for a while, and though it’s good to see you branch out stylistically, this is an area that brings a lot of visual interest and you excel at it.
Cheers!
I think I’ve covered super-stiff. I hope to keep exploring loosening up.
Those aren’t twigs the fox is snuffling at! The head they grow from mustn’t be awakened! [thwip – thud – urk!]
