Concoction Commentary
I posted this video about Concoction back in January of 2015 on my seemingly dead YouTube account.
At the time, unhappy with the quality of the final product, I decided not to share it far and wide.
And now, I’m sharing it in hopes it might offer a few minutes of distraction for those who have interest in learning a little about False Positive and can brave the poor audio.
Take care of one another. Stay healthy.
Big Mike
Thank you, Mike!
Cheers!
My favorite detail about the last scene of Concoction? The hole in the wall to space.
Yeah. A little nod to cosmic horrors to come.
Also, I had a ball revisiting that panel here: ttps://falsepositivecomic.com/comic/last-ditch-mid-credits-scene-1/
I don’t even know what linked me to you anymore, but it was right at the beginning. Has it been that long?
“This is meant to mimic the reader discovering False Positive” -> My mind just blew there!
Time can sure fly. Thanks for the company.
This was very cool, Mike! The details and references you pointed out I had missed, and I learned quite a bit from it. It is always interesting to hear the author’s take, because it is often so different than mine. I know I come at these stories from a pseudo-religious and Lovecraftian orientation, and I note that the things I often latch onto are the holes that expose vistas of a larger universe. The idea that “the walls come tumbling down” has always hit me a bit viscerally.
Cool. I like hearing from creators talking about their works and also do enjoy revisiting and discussing my own past works—even if only superficially.
But, I’m reticent about the most personal aspects of these stories. And, I’m hesitant to discuss too much about myself or my intentions with my work in fear it might taint the audience’s experience.
So, I appreciate the feedback.
It sounds like we share some overlapping sensibilities. Thanks for chiming in.
Love it! Thanks for sharing.
