Big Mike’s 2 Cents: Take Webcomic Reading to the Next Level
While Google Reader lays on its deathbed, many folks have found themselves searching for reader alternatives. I thought I’d take a moment to quell your oncoming withdrawals and introduce the usefulness of a couple great webcomic specific readers. Whether you follow one comic (False Positive, right?) or a hundred, using a webcomic reader can enhance your reading experience.
I’m aware of two stellar readers that are specifically designed for tracking and reading your favorite webcomics: Ink Outbreak and Comic Rocket. Both readers work really well for me. They allow you to easily create a profile to collect and track a library of your favorite titles. You can even earmark pages in each webcomic, to mark where you leave off reading. Try them out and let me know what you think.
If you use another great webcomic reader, please share in the comments. I’d love to hear about what’s out there.
I just use an RSS browser extension for the ones I follow, another extension to track the ones I’m catching up on, and a third extension to save more for later, but I do know of another webcomic reader that comes highly recommended: Piperka.
I use ink outbreak almost every day. I actually found your comic through their reader. I think sites like ink help out comic creators more cause it keeps users on pace with stories and helps them find new comics.
I never used RSS reader, or read webcomics before ink. I found it from a friend on facebook
I’ll have to try those out. A lot of times I’m reading webcomics on my phone, while content is still limited I have really enjoyed using the new Comic Chameleon app available for android and Iphone. Though I usually save FP to read at home so I can more fully enjoy your art.
